Volunteer & paid roles available
Join the cast and crew at Scared by the Sound Haunted House in Rye, New York.
Scared by the Sound is one of New York’s longest-running and most iconic haunted attractions, but we can’t bring the screams without you. Our team is the heart of everything we do, and we’re looking for energetic, Halloween-loving people to join us this fall.
This isn’t your average job. You’ll be part of a live, theatrical production set along the eerie waterfront of Rye Playland. Whether you’re scaring guests in the Crypt Walk, lurking in the Haunted Wine Cellar, or helping behind the scenes, every role is essential to the experience.
Why you’ll love it
- A set schedule
- Your schedule is set in advance, so you know exactly when you’ll be working. Most roles are moderately active for 4–6 hours per night, and the time flies once the screams start.
- Every age, no experience
- Great for teens, adults and retirees alike, from all backgrounds. We’ll teach you everything, so just be ready to move around and follow some simple acting instructions.
- The fun part
- Scare your friends and strangers alike with the support of a professional team.
